The windmill at Blennerville is the largest working windmill in Ireland. Built in 1800, it fell into ruin by 1846. It was purchased in 1981 by the Tralee Urban Council who developed it as a tourist attraction.
The Visitor Centre showcases the working machinery of the windmill. Visitors are guided through each element of the flour making process. Also of note is a display and video on Irish emigration including models of the infamous coffin ships.
From Tralee head west towards Dingle on the N86 for 1 mile. You will see the windmill as you cross over the bridge – take a left onto Windmill Lane for this perspective.
