The Glens of Antrim hold many delights and wonders. One of these is the Glenariff Forest, filled with primeval, mossy forests, gushing waterfalls, and sylvan splendour.
There are several walks for several levels of difficulty and length. We walked about a 3 mile walk through the area, and encountered about a dozen waterfalls, ranging from powerful cascades to delicate trickles. There is an area with pavilions and barbecue facilities along one trail for a nice picnic rest. We went when it was a soft, rainy, drizzly day – which just made the forest aroma stronger and the waterfalls faster.
If you fancy a hot cuppa or some warming soup, there is a cafe near the beginning of the walk. If you aren’t much up for adventure, there is a large waterfall right near the entrance, with an observation deck. But please, wander in! Be adventurous!
