He goes by several names… Kenny, Cainnech, Canice, Canicus, Kenneth. The 6th century saint even lends his moniker to the city of Kilkenny (church of Kenny). The holy well in his honor is a short walk from the city centre. A stone “house” has been built around the well and a trough directs the holy water into the nearby river. A lovely park has been built around the site, but depending on when you’re there, it could be impeccably maintained or looking a wee bit unkempt.
