Irish Sport Worship: Limerick City

The Irish love their sport, and Limerick is no exception. In 2011 it was named European City of Sport, and with addition of the Thomond Park Stadium and its museum, the city has taken things up a notch.

This 1992 addition to O’Connell Street features two Limerick obsessions, Rugby and Hurling. Sculptor Robin Buick was commissioned by AIB Bank to create the work.
