Gaelic Storm on stage at Gaelic Park Irish Festival

The two largest stages at Gaelic Park Irish Fest have the most popular live Irish music you’ll find

Memorial Weekend not only marks the beginning of summer, but also a “kick off” of festivals across the US.  In Chicago’s “Southland“, the suburb of Oak Park hosts the Gaelic Park Irish Festival.

Acres of tents filled with all things Irish cover Gaelic Park.  You’ll find plenty of trinkets, tasty food and enough live music to keep your toes tapping.  Be sure to take a break in the Tea House tent for a relaxing break and a bit of a snack.

In addition to the festival you can also watch Gaelic sports, see Irish dancers compete in a Feis, and ride unlimited carnival rides (which makes the kids happy beyond belief and works well for bribes; re: “We will watch this band and then you can ride 3 rides of your choice.  But if you fuss…  NO RIDES!”

I share more about our visit to the Gaelic Park Irish Festival at Ireland With Kids.
