Dysert O’Dea is a simple tower castle hidden away in the rolling hills of County Clare, and worth a search. The keep itself is open for touring, and the story of the family is there for enjoyment. On the grounds you can find an old cannon and other memorabilia.
If you go back down the little road from the castle, and turn right, there is a stile (ladder/bridge) over the gate. Go carefully over this, and into the field, where you will find the lovely high cross and many sheep.
