Not far from the town of Killinaboy, there is an ancient Wedge Tomb. It is called Parknabinnia (Pairc na Binne in Irish), and it is easily accessible from the road. Watch for the brown sign, and you will need to make a small walk from the layby onto the hill.
The view from the tomb is commanding, take some time to explore all around the site. You are very likely to have it all to yourself – unlike the Poulnabrone Dolmen, buses do not take tourists up to see this site, and it is much more secluded.
The tomb looks like it has hair – grass is growing on the large, flat capstone.
For the more intrepid explorer, there are about 10 tombs scattered around this area, in a 1km radius.
