Montana has a strong Irish community, made up of those whose forbears came to work the mines and ride the ranges in this western place and those who have followed in recent times. In midsummer they gather in the streets of downtown Butte to share celebration of Irish heritage through concerts, workshops, a mass on Sunday, storytelling, and food. It is a western celebration of Irish culture, with local and regional performers, and always internationally known artists. In recent years, headliners have included Teada, Aoife Clancy, and Cathie Ryan.
